POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Equipment Specialist is a technical position that requires basic technical skills as well as a basic understanding of machining, turning, grinding, and other metalworking fabrication methods. This position requires the basic ability to read and interpret blueprints and some knowledge of geometric tolerancing. Additionally, this position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and ability and willingness to learn all toolroom machinery as well as CAD design software.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Able to work on tasks encompassing complete projects or portions of projects under the guidance of a Senior Equipment Specialist or Management
Requires ability to learn and successfully run mills, lathers, saws, drills, and other shop machines.
Requires ability to solve problems of moderate scope and complexity
Works under general supervision
Requires ability to learn materials and which to use to fabricate fixtures and tools
Fabricate, assemble and debug fixtures, gages, and tooling to facilitate efficient assembly of products
Verify accuracy of work utilizing various measuring techniques
Requires the ability to juggle priorities to align with the department priorities.
Demonstrates exceptional mechanical aptitude
Ability to do physical work and lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree preferred
Mechanical aptitude
Computer/data entry skills
Verbal communication skills
Problem solving/troubleshooting experience
Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Assembly experience
Basic CAD experience
Engineering/design background
Basic MasterCam Knowledge
1+ year in comparable mechanical position
vocational school, or related experience preferred
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed
Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift over 50 pounds
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
