Sourcing Project Manager & Commodity Specialist
Job Description
The successful candidate will act as the focal point for Supply Chain NPD and CM activities on assigned programs, managing the full project lifecycle from Concept through Development, Pre-launch and Production phases. He/She will solve problems, develop and execute objectives, and affect short-term and long-term business goals. Working across Engineering, Planning, Operations, Quality, and suppliers, the candidate will be accountable for timely execution of projects within budget. Interaction with Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), Project Management Team (PMT), and peers within the Sourcing and Procurement community will be paramount. Working across time zones and physical locations will enable the candidate to gain vast experience in a global network and will challenge the individual to maintain exceptional organizational and prioritization skills. The candidate will also apply strategic commodity management practices to assigned material categories, leading supplier risk assessments and driving cost reduction initiatives.
General Responsibilities
• Leads collaboration with functional areas to populate sourcing events, making decisions on sourcing event structure, supplier pool, selection criteria and event outcome criteria
• Leadsactivities as required cross-functionally, including Planning, Engineering, Quality, Programs, Finance, Legal and Manufacturing
• Leads in the continuous development of the Procurement function towards the best practices
• Responsible for the delivering of corporate aligned procurement objectives supporting total company strategic vision
• Lead with implementing communication strategies to ensure accurate and timely flow of information to upper management, business partners, and suppliers
• Lead in supplier risk assessments, risk management and disaster recovery planning
Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

- Own end-to-end NPD and CM program execution (~70%), driving Concept-to-Production deliverables including charter review, component sourcing risk assessment, DFM, RFQ/supplier selection, DV/PV samples, R@R, and PPAP within prescribed schedule and budget.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans in PWA, ensuring real-time visibility of program status, risks, issues, and document control for all stakeholders across Engineering, SQE, PMT, Planning, and Operations.
- Drive project scope, schedule, cost, and change control; track performance against short- and long-term goals, perform financial analysis, and escalate decisively when deviations occur.
- Coordinate cross-functional resources within Global Operations—Supplier Management, Quality, Production, and Engineering—assigning work and ensuring on-time execution.
- Lead strategic sourcing and cost reduction for ceramics, machining, die-casting, and stamping commodities (~30%), including supplier pool development, RFQ structuring, selection criteria definition, and event execution.
- Conduct supplier risk assessments, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning for assigned commodities; align category strategies with corporate procurement objectives.
- Ensure accurate and timely flow of commodities and project sourcing information to upper management, business partners, and suppliers.
- Align with all applicable functional and quality policies and procedures; maintain ethical courage to escalate and ensure projects remain on-time and on-budget
REQUIREMENTS
- A university degree required (i.e., Bachelor's degree) with minimum 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree (i.e., Master's degree) with minimum 2 years of relevant experience. No specific major required; Engineering, Mechanical, Materials Science, Supply Chain Management or related technical background is preferred.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Exceptionally strong logical thinking and structured analytical skills are mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate clear, organized reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong English proficiency is mandatory with excellent business English written and oral communication skills required for daily interaction with global teams, cross-time-zone meetings, and English documentation.

- Demonstrated knowledge or hands-on experience in ceramics, machining, die-casting, and/or stamping commodities and associated manufacturing processes is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with NPD/CM sourcing processes including Charter review, Component sourcing risk assessment, DFM, RFQ, DV/PV samples, R@R, and PPAP is preferred.
