Job Description

Job Purpose:

To develop and execute strategic country business plan consistent with the budget and medium-term business plan delivering a pipeline of profitable business in the short, medium, and long term. 

The Senior Sales Manager of LET is responsible for the management of significant sales and business development activities of Lucy Electric in the country and region and building relationships with clients including Utilities, local key partners and other stakeholders. 

As a senior representative of the sales organization in Thailand, ensures that all resources and procedures of the sales organization including staff are operating efficiently and effectively. The SSM also works in collaboration with the Lucy headquarters; the Management team based at WHA and is an integral part the Bangkok office-based team.

Job Context:

The role requires close collaboration with internal teams in Thailand and AsiaPacific region, while managing a diverse ecosystem of utilities, government bodies, consultants, and distribution partners. Operating with high autonomy and strategic responsibility, the Sr. Sales Manager must balance shortterm sales growth with longterm market development, ensure strong customer engagement, and represent Lucy Electric as the senior commercial leader in the country. 

 

Job Dimensions:

The role involves leading and coordinating the country’s sales resources, influencing crossfunctional teams, and contributing to medium and longterm strategic planning. With direct accountability for major utility and government relationships, the position drives growth in existing and emerging market segments while ensuring alignment with global product, pricing, and development initiatives. 

 

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Create and formulate and follow a dedicated and focused business plan for Lucy Electric and develop and execute this in line with the 5-year Medium Term Plan
  2. Develop excellent relations with key clients in the region. Work with partners such as governmental agencies and Utilities.
  3. Actively develop, manage and measure performance partners, agents & distributors in the region. 
  4. Identify and develop new market segments for Lucy products and services in the market area
  5. Establish new partnering arrangements for Lucy products, including possible substation opportunities for the market and export from it.
  6. Work with the Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia Pacific, the UK, Middle East and other regions as a point of contact for reviews, updates and information for sales related issues and concerns and ensure essential support for business development in the region.
  7. Actively contribute to development plans for new products with Marketing and the Research & Development Function.

     

Secondary activities / tasks

  1. To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed in order to establish and manage new business.
  2. To undertake business travel in the region or within Thailand as and when required.

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

Minimum Knowledge and Experience:

  • Computer literate with excellent command of spreadsheet and project planning tools.
  • Excellent command of English & Thai language.
  • A thorough understanding of contract law and terms and conditions in the area.
  • Ability to write and present detailed analytical reports at Board level.
  • Significant business management and/or business development experience.
  • Ability to operate and network in the Thai business community.

     

Desirable:

  • Fluency in other languages and dialects, e.g., Bahasa, Vietnamese.

Other Requirements:

  • Electrical, chemical or mechanical engineering or science Degree as a minimum.
  • An appropriate business qualification 
  • Experience in a senior sales or senior commercial role in the area.

Responsibilities:
1) Marketing Communications: Develop and deliver marketing communications campaigns across all media to support the business plan and increase sales.
2) Marketing Planning: Develop tactical marketing campaigns to assist in the achievement of operational marketing goals.
3) Marketing Campaign Development: Coordinate activities of subcontractors and suppliers and act as their primary point of contact while working within an established contract to deliver successful advertising, promotion, and other marketing campaigns.
4) Marketing Execution: Execute a marketing plan for a particular product, service, or specialty area while working within established marketing systems.
5) Promoting Customer Focus: Assist with the development of internal communications and work collaboratively with colleagues to build strong external customer relationships and meet customer needs.
6) Leadership and Direction: Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's strategy and action plan and to the broader organization's mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.
7) Budgeting: Track budgets and report variances to more senior colleagues.
8) Performance Management: Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team, allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal.
9) Organizational Capability Building: Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills.


Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level

General Experience Requirement: Experience enables job holder to deal with the majority of situations and to advise others (Over 3 years to 6 years)

Managerial Experience Requirement: Experience of supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes (13 months to 3 years)
