Senior Engineer, Software Tools, Datacenters & Energy

We are looking for a Senior Engineer, Software Tools, to join our Software and Digital Platforms Group in Cork, Ireland, working on Datacenters & Energy products. 

About the Role

As Senior Engineer, Tools Software, you will contribute to the development of Graphical Tools software for Analog Devices' Datacenters & Energy business unit. You'll have a senior role in designing, developing, and maintaining intuitive, responsive, and visually appealing user interfaces for software applications that allow our customers to configure and evaluate our Datacenters and Energy devices. This role involves close collaboration with product managers, digital design engineers, and embedded software engineers to translate requirements and design concepts into functional, high‑quality interfaces that enhance the overall user experience.

You will be part of a fast growing, world-class engineering team working to deliver software solutions that improve datacentre resilience and advance power management innovation. You will be a strong team player with excellent communications and technical skills.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Gather, analyse and prepare software requirements
  • Design and implement graphical user interfaces based on requirements and design guidelines.
  • Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of the UI.
  • Collaborate, communicate and resolve technical issues or concepts with other engineers
  • Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and code reviews.
  • Maintain documentation for UI components, styles, and interaction patterns.
  • Conduct UI testing, including usability testing, cross‑platform testing, and performance tuning. Implement automated UI tests where applicable.


Minimum candidate requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in UI software development.
  • Strong proficiency in GUI development using tools or frameworks such as WPF, WinUI, or similar.
  • Relevant programming experience in C/C++ and C#.
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX principles, responsive design, and user‑centered design.
  • Proficiency in version control systems
  • Experience with automated UI testing frameworks.

Desirable additional skills and experience:

  • Python programming experience
  • Embedded software development experience
  • AI/ML experience
  • Familiarity in the following:
    • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and with the different software development methodologies, e.g. Agile, Waterfall, V-model
    • Coding standards and guidelines

Additional Information

·       Travel: Up to 10%.

·       Location: Cork, Ireland.

·       Reports to: Manager, Datacentre & Energy Software.
