Job Description

What you will be doing

 

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, standards, and proper presentation guidelines.
  • Assist with daily kitchen preparation including chopping, portioning, seasoning, and organizing ingredients.
  • Set up and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
  • Prepare food for restaurant, banquet, catering, and hotel events as assigned.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and served according to quality standards.
  • Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor food temperatures and maintain proper storage practices.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food products using FIFO procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Support the culinary team during busy service periods.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Previous cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, or high-volume kitchen preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Culinary education or previous kitchen training preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience with banquet, restaurant, or hotel operations is a plus.
