Job Description
What you will be doing
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, standards, and proper presentation guidelines.
- Assist with daily kitchen preparation including chopping, portioning, seasoning, and organizing ingredients.
- Set up and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
- Prepare food for restaurant, banquet, catering, and hotel events as assigned.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served according to quality standards.
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Monitor food temperatures and maintain proper storage practices.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food products using FIFO procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, tools, and work areas.
- Support the culinary team during busy service periods.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, or high-volume kitchen preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary education or previous kitchen training preferred.
- Food Handler Certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience with banquet, restaurant, or hotel operations is a plus.
