Job Description
ABOUT KEYSTONE CUSTOM HOMES
Keystone Custom Homes is a leading custom home builder in Central Pennsylvania, empowering homeowners to realize their vision through customer-led design and real-time transparency. We build more than homes — we build trust, one family at a time. Our work is also mission-driven: KCH profits fund HOPE International, a global microfinance nonprofit, meaning the work we do here creates impact far beyond Central PA.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an HR Coordinator who is interested in joining a growing team. This is a position for someone who wants to be an active, contributing member of an HR team that's building something. You'll touch recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, and people operations in ways that matter, with room to grow your scope as the company grows. If you're energized by the intersection of people, process, and culture, and you want your work to have a direct hand in shaping how a company feels from the inside, this role is for you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruiting & Talent
-
Own and manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned roles — from sourcing and screening to offer coordination — with an emphasis on active pipeline building, not just reactive posting.
-
Build relationships with candidates and maintain a warm talent pipeline for high-frequency roles.
-
Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, craft compelling job descriptions, and move candidates through efficiently.
-
Conduct background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
Onboarding
-
Design and deliver a first-day-and-beyond onboarding experience that sets new hires up for success — not just paperwork, but genuine integration into the team.
-
Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure new employees have the tools, access, and context they need from day one.
-
Continuously refine onboarding materials and processes based on feedback and outcomes.
Employee Engagement & Culture
-
Plan and execute company events and recognition programs that reflect KCH's values and reinforce a positive, high-performing culture.
-
Support wellness initiatives and other engagement programs that contribute to retention and satisfaction.
-
Act as a visible, approachable presence for employees across departments.
People Operations & Growth
-
Maintain accurate employee records and support HR compliance requirements.
-
Contribute to HR process improvement — identify where things can be done better, and help build the systems and workflows to support a growing team.
-
Take on expanded responsibility over time in areas like compensation support, policy administration, or HR analytics as your expertise deepens.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
-
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
-
1–3 years of experience in HR, recruiting, people operations, or a closely related role.
-
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing the details.
-
Excellent communication — written, verbal, and interpersonal.
-
Comfortable with technology and quick to learn new tools; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
-
High degree of integrity, professionalism, and discretion with sensitive information.
-
Collaborative by nature — you see yourself as part of a team, not just executing a task list.
NICE TO HAVE
-
Experience with an ATS (applicant tracking system) or HRIS platform.
-
Background in a high-growth, multi-location, or construction/trades environment.
-
PHR or SHRM-CP coursework or certification (in progress or completed).
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This position offers a salary range of $52,000–$60,000 annually based on experience, and is bonus eligible. Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage; paid time off; and participation in KCH's performance incentive program. This position is hybrid eligible.
Keystone Custom Homes is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
