Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Assistant Vice President Expectations

Join us as a Full Stack Technical Lead - AVP, where you will take ownership of end-to-end technical delivery, architecture, and engineering excellence across backend, frontend, and cloud-native platforms. You will lead the design and development of scalable, secure, high‑performance enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and React / React Native, while mentoring engineers and driving best practices across the team.

As a Tech Lead, you will work closely with product owners, architects, platform teams, and business stakeholders, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions and ensuring successful delivery.

To be successful as a Full Stack Technical Lead - AVP, you should have experience with:

• Provide technical leadership across full‑stack engineering teams, owning solution design, technical decisions, and implementation quality.
• Architect and develop scalable, resilient microservices using Java 11+/17, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and modern design patterns.
• Lead UI and mobile engineering using React JS / Angular and React Native, ensuring high‑quality user experience and performance.
• Design and implement event‑driven and distributed systems, ensuring fault tolerance, scalability, and observability.
• Own cloud‑native architecture, leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, and public cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Define and enforce API standards, security, and governance, including OAuth2, JWT, and API Gateway patterns.
• Drive CI/CD strategy and automation, ensuring reliable, secure, and fast deployments using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Establish and promote engineering best practices including clean architecture, modular design, code quality, and documentation.
• Lead testing strategy across unit, integration, and contract testing using JUnit, Mockito, Jest, PACT, and Postman.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid‑level engineers, conducting code reviews and supporting career development.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to manage dependencies, technical risks, and delivery timelines.
• Continuously optimize performance, scalability, security, and reliability of platforms and services.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Strong hands‑on experience with Java 11+/17, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Microservices architecture.
• Deep expertise in frontend development, including:
• JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3.
• React JS / Angular.
• React Native for mobile development.
• Proven experience designing event‑driven systems and asynchronous architectures.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud‑native services.
• AWS (Lambda, ECS), Azure Functions, or GCP Cloud Run.
• Expertise in API design, security, and authentication, including OAuth2, JWT, API Gateways.
• Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Strong grasp of testing frameworks and strategies, including unit, integration, and contract testing.
• Experience designing highly available, fault‑tolerant, and secure systems in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Serverless Architecture and event‑centric cloud patterns.
• Background in banking, financial services, or regulated environments.
• Exposure to observability platforms (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Experience driving platform modernization or cloud migration initiatives.
