Software Team Lead - C#/.NET (m/f/n)

Summary

We’re looking for a technical team leader who combines people leadership with hands-on software engineering in C#.

You’ll lead a team of 9 engineers working on API gateways, Syslog export services, and integration management for the ESET XDR platform. The team owns the full software lifecycle — from architecture and development through CI/CD and monitoring to 3rd-level production support.

This is not a pure management role — you’re expected to stay close to the technology, support technical decisions, and actively help the team solve engineering challenges.
 

Expected split: ~70% technical / 30% leadership.
The team is based in Brno (Czechia) and collaborates closely with engineering teams in Kraków (Poland) and Bratislava (Slovakia).

 

What you’ll do
* Lead a team of 9 engineers (mentoring, evaluation, feedback, growth)
* Support technical design and architecture decisions within the team
* Drive delivery together with Product Owners and Scrum Master
* Work closely with engineering teams across ESET
* Improve engineering practices, code quality, CI/CD, and observability
* Stay hands-on when needed (coding, code reviews, debugging, unblocking the team)
* Support production operations and continuous improvement of owned services

 

What we expect
* Experience leading a software engineering team
* Solid experience with C# and .NET development
* Experience designing and operating backend services and APIs
* Understanding of distributed systems and software architecture principles
* Experience with CI/CD
* Experience containerized applications
* Experience monitoring and troubleshooting production systems
* Strong communication skills and cross-team collaboration
* English proficiency (daily communication)

 

Nice to have
* Experience with Azure cloud services
* Experience with Kubernetes (AKS) and Docker
* Experience with Jenkins
* Experience with API gateways, integrations, or messaging systems (SIEM)
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
