Job Description
Main purpose of role:
The Product Manager - Software and Services role sits within Aritech Australia, a business unit of Kidde Global Solutions focused on delivering electronic security hardware and software. Aritech security technologies are currently deployed in a range of diverse customer environments including banking, retail, government, critical infrastructure and more. The Product Manager for software and services can expect to work closely with customers in these segments as well as internal cross-functional teams to drive product strategy, roadmap execution, and deliver customer-centric outcomes. Candidates from diverse industry backgrounds are encouraged to apply, more information about Aritech can be found at Aritech.com.au.Responsible for driving the profitability and increase market share of the assigned portfolio by managing all phases of the product life cycle. A key part of this role will be transforming traditional on premises software solutions into reliable, feature rich software as a service (SAAS) products, suitable for sale to distributors, system integrators, and end users.
Role Responsibilities:
● Develop and maintain knowledge of the assigned product portfolio to an expert level. Own the product.● Develop and maintain personal contact with internal teams, distributors, system integrators and end users to qualify product feature requests, understand any potential short falls or technical failings, and prioritise product development plans, with the fundamental goal of providing a 'customer first' approach.● Work closely with engineering teams to create products centred on customer feedback, focusing on developing realistic delivery timelines for communication to internal and external stakeholders.● Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the broader security and SAAS markets and trends by developing processes and mechanisms for gathering and analysing provided intelligence, as and when required.● Maintain commercial ownership of the assigned portfolio through management of sales targets, engineering budgets and other objectives as communicated by management.● Provide pre-sales technical support and solutions to the internal sales team or external stakeholders when required.● Develop and present technical presentations to the internal sales team or external stakeholders when required.● Engage with internal sales team and customers to understand buyer motivation, and develop solutions accordingly.● Assist in preparing tender submissions in conjunction with the internal sales team.● Liaise with or present to international teams as and when required.● Review product pricing pro-actively and on demand to ensure balance between profitability and sales impact.● Work with internal teams to develop internal and external marketing plans and material for the product portfolio.● Work with internal teams to manage inventory levels and product forecasting.● Work with internal teams to manage factory production and assist in issue resolution.● Provide product information, training and advice to internal technical support team, document writer, and trainer as and when required.
Professional Experience:
• Experience in creating marketing plans and content for different stakeholders or customer bases.• Experience in managing complete product lifecycle.• Experience presenting to small and large groups of people.• Experience working effectively in hybrid work environment.• Ownership of sales targets(revenue and profit).• Experience qualifying sales leads• Experience developing customer feedback into profitable outcomes.• Experience in UX design or outcomes• Experience in engineering management tools (eg. Jira, Confluence)
Professional Competencies:
• Tertiary education qualification/s in Product Management, Project Management or Business or significant previous experience (3+ years in a similar role)• Excellent understanding of how to achieve commercial business objectives through financial management.• Good understanding, qualification desirable, of AWS and general cloud computing architecture.• Strong time management abilities.• Good understanding of the operational drivers and control processes of a business.• Excellent presentation skills.
