Manufacturing Engineer II
Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, review, and improve manufacturing processes for the Post Exhaust Processing and Test production areas to ensure efficient manufacturing operations. Apply technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Develop, review, and improve manufacturing processes to ensure efficient operations, improve cost, yield, productivity, and reduce waste, scrap, and downtime.
Use data analytics techniques to identify areas of concern or opportunities for improvement.
Evaluate product quality using stereo microscopes or other test equipment to verify operator workmanship or determine the root cause of process or yield issues.
Diagnose process and equipment issues and work with maintenance teams to keep equipment running optimally.
Analyze, optimize, or develop visual and test equipment/methods for the evaluation of electro-optical devices.
Interface with external customers regarding testing methodology.
Work with and train bargaining-unit employees to improve work processes and product quality.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, preferably Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
2–4 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
Strong analytical abilities and troubleshooting techniques.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to perform self-directed work as well as collaborate effectively within a team.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills
Experience developing electrical test methods.
Experience with Visual Studio programming languages (C, C++, C#, VB, Python).
