Job Description
As an RF Field Engineer, you will support in‑building wireless projects from design through deployment as part of the ICN Engineering team. This role is well-suited for engineers with foundational RF and DAS experience who are eager to grow their technical depth through hands‑on field work, system turn‑ups, and customer‑facing problem-solving.
You will work closely with sales, project management, customers, carriers, integrators, and cross‑functional engineering teams to help design, implement, commission, and optimize DAS solutions for commercial buildings, public venues, and other complex in‑building environments.
This is a remote role with extensive travel (as much as 50-60%), supporting our Southeast United States region. A strong preference will be given to candidates based in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Alabama.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Support the design and implementation of RF coverage solutions for buildings, stadiums, transit systems, and other capacity‑driven in‑building environments
Participate in RF and wireless engineering assignments involving system design, analysis, evaluation, and field execution
Assist in evaluating customer requirements and helping develop tailored DAS solutions to support proposals and active projects
Collaborate with sales and project teams on technical documentation, solution development, and customer discussions
Work directly with customers, carriers, integrators, and internal engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle
Perform system commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting for DAS deployments in the field
Support DAS testing and optimization using RF tools such as spectrum analyzers, propagation tools, and design software (e.g., iBwave)
Provide hands‑on field support during deployments and help resolve technical and non‑technical issues as they arise
Apply established engineering techniques and sound judgment to solve moderately complex field and system challenges
Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment
Required Qualifications for Consideration
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field. Preferred candidates will have 5-8 years of experience, but someone with 2-5 years of experience may also be considered for the right candidate.
Foundational understanding of wireless technologies, including LTE and 5G NR
Exposure to in‑building wireless systems or DAS deployments, through field work, integration, installation, or engineering support
Ability to work effectively on project teams with cross‑functional stakeholders
Ability to communicate and collaborate directly with customers and internal teams
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables
Ability to carry and/or move test equipment up to 25–50 pounds in field environments
Willingness and ability to travel based on project needs; posted travel may be up to 50–60%, though actual travel is often lower and primarily weekday‑based
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in customer‑facing RF engineering, deployment, or technical support roles
Background with DAS integrators, neutral host providers, installation partners, or competitors
Hands‑on experience supporting stadiums, transit systems, or other large public venues
Working knowledge of iBwave
Familiarity with ANDREW DAS products or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new RF technologies
Leveling & Compensation Note
This role offers flexibility in leveling based on experience and demonstrated capability, with compensation and title aligned accordingly within the approved job grade structure. Expected hiring range: $85,000-$110,000.
