We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join our Information Security Department. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of law, technology, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. The intern will support global monitoring legal and regulatory developments, assisting with compliance initiatives, and contributing to governance processes related to information security and emerging technologies. This role is ideal for a law student with an interest in cybersecurity law, data protection, technology regulation, and corporate compliance.
Your role:
Support the organization’s compliance efforts related to the NIS2 Directive.
Conduct legal and regulatory research on new and upcoming global laws, regulations, and standards related to information security, cybersecurity, and privacy.
Support crisis management and incident notification processes during cybersecurity or operational incidents, including regulatory reporting obligations to relevant authorities, preparation of notification workflows, and improvement or automation of escalation and reporting processes.
Support the implementation and monitoring of compliance efforts related to the EU AI
Act from an information security perspective.
You're the right fit if:
You are currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Law, Technology Law, Cybersecurity Governance, or a related field.
You have interest in information security, technology regulation, and emerging legal frameworks.
You are familiar with research, and possess analytical, and writing skills.
You are able to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
You are proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata.
Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the land lord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours. Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192,- net. Paid holidays per internship term.
