Position Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) provides strategic and operational human resources support to leaders and employees across the organization. The role partners with managers throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, disability and leave management, and leadership coaching. As a key member of the HR team, the HRBP promotes collaboration across HR functions, supports organizational effectiveness, and contributes to a positive workplace culture aligned with organizational goals and values.

Schedule

  • Maternity leave coverage with an anticipated term of July 2026 to August 2027, with the possibility of an extension

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on HR policies, employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness. 
  • Manage disability, leave of absence, accommodation, return-to-work, and WCB processes in compliance with legislation and organizational practices. 
  • Partner with managers to identify operational challenges and implement practical HR solutions that support program and organizational goals. 
  • Provide guidance and support on employee performance, disciplinary matters, investigations, and terminations. 
  • Lead and support recruitment, talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives. 
  • Build strong relationships with leaders and employees through regular engagement, site visits, and participation in program meetings. 
  • Monitor workplace culture, employee trends, and HR metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and inform decision-making. 
  • Collaborate with Health and Safety and operational leaders to support compliance with workplace health, safety, training, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Deliver training, coaching, and development opportunities to strengthen leadership capacity and HR knowledge across the organization. 
  • Contribute to HR team initiatives, strategic planning, policy development, budgeting, and the implementation of organizational priorities and change initiatives.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Leadership or Psychology

Certification

  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is considered an asset.

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience. 
  • 2+ years of experience in employee leave and/or disability management is considered an asset. 
  • 2+ years of experience in recruitment and workforce planning, including competency-based hiring, onboarding, and leadership support. 
  • Strong knowledge of human resources best practices, employment legislation, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, and HR systems. 
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and advise leaders, support organizational change initiatives, and apply practical HR solutions to complex workplace situations. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal, relationship-building, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and HRMS platforms.
