The Technician, Production Operations is responsible for setting up and operating automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. This role supports high-quality manufacturing output by carrying out equipment operations, cleaning, filling, labelling, packing and inspection activities in compliance with GMP and quality system requirements.
This position reports to the Supervisor, Production Operations and is part of the Production Operations Department located in Lismeehan, O'Callaghan's Mills, Co. Clare. This is an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Operate equipment when training has been completed.
Maintain equipment in a condition necessary to operate at its optimum and comply with cleaning procedures for equipment and machinery.
Carry out filling, labelling and packing of products as per training plan, including preparation of packing components for kits.
Perform kit and vial inspection as required.
Ensure all operations are performed in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality System Regulations, housekeeping, dress code, and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
Maintain neat and accurate records, logs and documents, follow relevant procedures, and support training of other personnel as required.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
Physical/Environment Requirements:
This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and handle materials up to 20–25 kg in line with safety guidelines.
Operators work in both cleanroom and manufacturing environments, requiring adherence to PPE and contamination control standards.
The role involves working with automated production lines, following strict procedures, and responding to equipment conditions.
Flexibility to work shifts, including nights and weekends, is essential.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Previous manufacturing experience.
Knowledge and experience of GMP in a highly regulated manufacturing work environment.
Working as part of a team using problem-solving tools in a manufacturing work environment.
This is a night shift role, working hours will be:
12.00am to 8.00am Monday to Thursday
10.00pm to 5.00am on Friday
