Join our Government Law & Policy team as a Compliance Assistant located in our Albany office.

This role will be based in our Albany, NY office, on an in-office basis. Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to the Manager of Legislative Affairs.
Position Summary:
The Compliance Assistant provides administrative and operational support for lobbying compliance activities, including preparing and processing registrations and disclosures, coordinating with internal stakeholders to meet reporting requirements, assisting with audit support, and ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepares, reviews for accuracy, and processes firm and client lobbyist registrations, terminations, and amendments in accordance with established procedures and templates
Follows defined processes to coordinate with attorneys and lobbyists in the Albany and New York City offices to support timely and accurate completion of state and local lobbying reporting requirements
Assists with standard enrollment and disclosure activities, providing procedural guidance to clients based on established instructions and requirements
Supports compliance audit activities by gathering documentation and assisting attorneys with routine review tasks
Handles all administrative and operational tasks in support of the department head

Education & Prior Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is preferred
Government or government affairs experience preferred
Knowledge of New York lobbying or campaign finance disclosure processes preferred
Technology
Proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
Candidates should be comfortable using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms to enhance productivity
Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability with respect to evolving AI tools and technologies in the professional services environment
The expected pay range for this position is:
$26.42 – $30.05 per hour
Salary will be determined based upon education, experience, job related factors permitted by law, internal equity, and market data, including geographic pay differentials in locations where market pay differs from the national average.
