Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer to join our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. or Palmdale, CA. The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct.
Roles and Responsibilities will include:
Responsible Engineer in the field of Electro Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) Sensor System development
Provide overall technical strategy for Systems, development, supplier management, integration, and testing.
Improve current architecture and synthesize architectural concepts for future solutions
Provide technical direction/guidance to multi-discipline engineering teams and ensure technical oversight on all efforts from concept to design.
Evaluating the impact of installation and environmental conditions such as windows, vibration, thermal gradients and atmospheric effects.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is NO remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 25% may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related engineering experience.
Experience in the field of Electro Optical Infrared Sensors
Experience in technical integration of communications, payloads or avionics electronic subsystems
Experience with developing and executing test plans, and test reports.
Experience with MS Office
A U.S. Citizen with Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance OR active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office with strong technical writing skills and the ability to communicate and present technical material to various stakeholders.
Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Active USG Top Secret SCI clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Mastery of scientific theory in the fields of EO & IR
Demonstrated ability to formally present technical solutions to senior leadership
Experience developing advanced technological ideas and guiding their development into a final product
Supplier Management experience
Highly organized and self-driven with the ability to lead a multi-discipline engineering team to accomplish complex objectives
2+ years in management or technical leadership role
