Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician Lead Certified Acute Care performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintains quality of workflows, regulatory standards, and other complex pharmacy processes.
Essential Job Function
- Maintains pharmacy workflow, including but not limited to compounding hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications, distribution of medication in compliance with current standards or obtaining a complete and accurate medication history based on organization standard.
- Serves as a reference for other pharmacy technicians.
- Serves as a mentor in the training and orientation of new employees.
- Leads and implements process improvement and departmental quality initiatives.
- Communicates effectively with team members in and outside of pharmacy, providing quality customer service.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Required: 7 years. Successful completion (graduation) of CH accredited technician training program is equivalent to 2 years of experience.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete an 'advanced pharmacy technician certification' within 12 months of starting the role.
