OVERVIEW The Installation Technician is responsible for the safe delivery, installation, and setup of commercial foodservice equipment while providing exceptional customer service. This position requires operating company vehicles, handling high-value equipment, completing required job documentation, and ensuring all work is performed in compliance with applicable safety regulations, company policies, and established work practices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Deliver, unload, position, assemble, and install commercial foodservice equipment, including hoods, walk-ins, refrigerators, freezers, ranges, dish machines, shelving, and related equipment. Operate company vehicles, including box trucks up to 26 feet, to transport equipment and materials to customer locations and perform equipment pickups as required. Comply with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company fleet policies, and vehicle safety requirements. Conduct and document required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with company policy and applicable DOT regulations. Load, unload, secure, and transport equipment and materials using proper load securement and safe material handling practices. Operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, genie lifts, appliance carts, dollies, and other approved equipment to safely move and position commercial kitchen equipment. Verify access points, including doorways, elevators, hallways, and installation areas, to ensure equipment can be delivered and installed safely and efficiently. Complete required job documentation, including delivery receipts, customer sign-offs, job site photographs, and punch lists, and submit documentation to the supervisor. Communicate installation progress, delays, damages, safety concerns, and job site issues to the supervisor in a timely manner. Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, customers, and other trades to ensure safe and efficient equipment delivery and installation. Represent the company professionally by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining positive relationships with customers and job site personnel. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of company vehicles, tools, equipment, and work areas. Perform other duties as assigned. Safety and Compliance Follow all applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, job-site safety rules, and company safety policies and procedures. Participate in required safety meetings, training sessions, and certification programs. Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment at all times. Conduct pre-use inspections of tools, ladders, lifts, and material handling equipment. Report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and damaged equipment to a supervisor immediately. Maintain clean and organized work areas to support a safe job site. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required. Ability to safely work at varying heights using ladders, genie lifts, and other approved access equipment. Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 50 to 75 pounds with or without assistance; occasional heavier lifting may be required. Ability to kneel, squat, bend, climb, reach, push, pull, and work in confined spaces. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, noise, slippery surfaces, and wet conditions. Ability to travel overnight and work multiple-day assignments as business needs require. Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, occasional weekends, and extended workdays as business needs require. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, equipment schedules, and installation drawings. Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, motor vehicle record review, and DOT physical, if required by company policy. Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 certification required within 90 days of employment; OSHA 30 certification preferred. Forklift certification preferred or the ability to obtain certification after hire. Experience using hand and power tools, including drills, saws, grinders, hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, sockets, tubing benders, and related equipment. Experience using genie lifts, pallet jacks, appliance carts, dollies, and other material handling equipment. Knowledge of proper load securement and safe material handling practices. Mechanical, construction, warehouse, commercial foodservice equipment installation, or related experience preferred. Experience working on active construction sites and coordinating with multiple trades preferred. Experience handling high-value equipment and freight preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
