This is a pivotal leadership role shaping procurement operations in a fast-paced, controlled environment. How you succeed
As Team Lead, you will oversee end-to-end procurement operations, ensure efficient execution of supplier due diligence (KYV), supplier lifecycle management, and purchase order processes, while maintaining strong governance, compliance, and service standards across all business units.
 

What you do

1. Team Leadership & Operational Oversight

  • Lead and supervise the Procurement Operations team (KYV and PO issuance)

  • Allocate workload and ensure service delivery within agreed timelines

  • Provide guidance, training, and performance management to team members

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization

  • Act as escalation point for complex or exception cases

2. Supplier Due Diligence (KYV Governance)

  • Oversee execution of KYV checks including AML, COI, adverse news, litigation, and financial assessments

  • Review and approve KYV reports prior to submission to stakeholders

  • Ensure timely completion and tracking of KYV requests

  • Ensure periodic KYV reviews (minimum every 2 years) are conducted

  • Manage exceptions and escalate high-risk cases to Head of CPO for approval

3. Purchase Order (PO) Governance

  • Oversee PO issuance process and ensure adherence to procurement policies

  • Ensure proper validation of supporting documents (contracts, approvals, quotations)

  • Monitor compliance with approval limits and procurement guidelines

  • Manage escalations relating to policy deviations or non-compliance

  • Ensure efficient processing, tracking, and closure of POs

4. Compliance, Risk & Audit Management

  • Ensure full compliance with:

    • Group Procurement Policy

    • Third-Party Risk Management requirements

    • Regulatory and internal audit standards

  • Maintain robust audit trails and documentation

  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigating controls

  • Support internal and external audit reviews

5. Process Improvement & Transformation

  • Identify process inefficiencies and propose automation or system enhancements

  • Drive standardization across procurement operations workflows

  • Analyse volume trends (e.g., supplier admin, KYV, PO) to optimize resource allocation

  • Support digital transformation initiatives (e.g., Infinus, supplier portal improvements)

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in procurement operations, vendor management, or shared services environment, preferably within financial institutions or regulated industries.
  • Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity, with demonstrated experience managing teams and overseeing operational delivery.
  • Proven experience in supplier due diligence (KYV), supplier onboarding, and procurement governance frameworks.
  • Prior exposure to banking, financial services.
  • Hands-on experience with procurement and ERP systems (e.g., Infinus, SAP, Ariba, Oracle), including supplier master data and PO lifecycle management.
  • Experience in process improvement, system implementation, or digital transformation initiatives would be an added advantage.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team, with strong oversight on workload prioritization, productivity, and staff development.
  • Strong understanding of procurement operations, including KYV due diligence, supplier lifecycle management, master data governance, and PO processes within a controlled environment.
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory requirements, AML screening, third-party risk management, and internal control frameworks, with the ability to enforce compliance and manage exceptions effectively.
  • Ability to assess complex cases (e.g., KYV risks, supplier exceptions, blacklisting scenarios) and make sound, data-driven decisions under pressure.
  • Proven track record in driving process optimization, automation, and standardization to improve efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and enhance control effectiveness.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with senior stakeholders across Business Units, Finance, Compliance, and Procurement, and to influence decision-making.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy, audit readiness, and maintaining robust documentation standards.
