Laundry Position Overview
The Laundry Aide / Linen Technician performs laundry and linen services in accordance with all current federal, state, and local regulations to ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and comfortable for our residents. This role is essential to maintaining an adequate supply of clean linens, garments, and resident clothing to support daily care operations.
Laundry assistant Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience in a laundry, linen services, housekeeping, or environmental services setting preferred
Experience in a healthcare, hospital, nursing home, or long-term care environment a plus
Laundry Aide Essential Functions
Sort, wash, dry, fold, and deliver resident laundry, linens, and garments daily
Load and unload commercial washers and dryers
Arrange and deliver resident clothing on racks in assigned numerical order
Follow all infection control, standard precautions, and isolation procedures
Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and facility policies at all times
Report resident, family, or visitor concerns to supervisor promptly
Complete all assigned tasks per facility policies and supervisor instruction
Report all incidents, accidents, and hazardous conditions immediately
Assist nursing staff with cleaning out resident closets as needed
Cross-trained to support the Housekeeping / Environmental Services Department and provide coverage as needed
Attend departmental meetings, in-service training, and staff meetings as scheduled
Uphold Compliance Standards and Code of Conduct at all times
Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Administrator
