Job Description
The SRS W93 Pit Production Product Realization Team (PRT) Lead is responsible for leading, planning, managing the execution of all deliverables, as well as facilitating communications among Pit Production staff, the Weapon Design Agencies (WDAs), other Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) partners, and NNSA, in accordance with Defense Programs Business Practices System (DPBPS) requirements, as they relate to Pit Production at SRS for the W93.
This highly visible role requires exceptional oral and written communication skills, the ability to manage multiple stakeholder perspectives, and the ability to motivate personnel across organizations to achieve key milestones required by the Product Realization Process.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Coordinate and lead all PRT activities to deliver War Reserve (WR) hardware, development/test hardware, and associated deliverables, meeting customer requirements and programmatic direction.
Represent SRS interests and ensure site-specific requirements are integrated into product decisions, collaborating with Design and Production Agencies.
Apply concurrent engineering principles and robust project management to develop, document, and implement comprehensive plans, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies.
Facilitate stakeholder engagement—including engineering, quality, operations, and customer representatives—to ensure early and ongoing input for product success.
Oversee qualification activities, stable production, and the collection of lifecycle data to demonstrate sustained compliance with requirements.
Ensure PRT documentation—including charters, project plans, cost estimates, risk management, requirements mapping, and production strategies—is developed and maintained in accordance with R001, R006, and R030, and other applicable DPBPS requirements documents.
