Position Summary
The S&OP Lead is responsible for orchestrating the end-to-end Sales & Operations Planning process. You will serve as the "connective tissue" between Business Development, Finance, Engineering, and Operations. Your goal is to create a single, consensus-based operating plan that balances demand with supply capabilities while meeting financial and contractual obligations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process Leadership: Lead the monthly S&OP cycle, including Demand Review, Supply Review, and Executive Reconciliation meetings.
- Demand Integration: Facilitate the consensus demand forecast by incorporating statistical trends, sales inputs, and program-specific milestones (especially important for defense contracts).
- Supply Planning: Collaborate with manufacturing and procurement to identify capacity constraints, long-lead material risks, and labor requirements.
- Financial Alignment: Ensure the S&OP plan aligns with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and quarterly financial forecasts.
- Scenario Modeling: Develop "What-If" scenarios to evaluate the impact of program shifts, supply chain disruptions, or new contract awards.
- KPI Management: Own and report on key metrics, including:
- Forecast Accuracy (MAPE/BIAS)
- On-Time Delivery (OTD)
- Capacity Utilization
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in Supply Chain, Operations, or Program Management (Defense or Aerospace experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Finance. MBA or APICS certification (CSCP/CPIM) is a major plus.
- High-level proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Deltek Costpoint) and Advanced Planning Software (APS).
- The ability to "manage up" and challenge executive assumptions with data-driven insights.
- Experience in S&OP and Demand Planning highly preferred. Experience leading businesses into new processes by working across many groups.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
- May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.
- Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
- Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed
- Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.
