Marsh Africa is seeking a driven and experienced Associate Account Manager to join our team based in the Johannesburg office.
This role supports the servicing of multinational clients and global programs, including complex inward business arrangements covering South African operations under Marsh’s international appointments. The successful candidate will manage accounts independently, support client relationships, and help ensure high-quality service delivery across renewals, meetings, and day-to-day account operations.
We will count on you to:
Service and develop multinational inward clients, ensuring strong delivery across all aspects of account management
Manage client renewals, including preparing presentations, attending renewal meetings, and liaising with local insurance markets
Handle day-to-day client servicing and account administration with minimal supervision
Support the resolution of difficult or complex claims matters where required
Work closely with placement teams and Marsh overseas offices to coordinate local cover placement and policy wording reviews
Contribute to renewal, new business, and expansion opportunities while maintaining a primary focus on client service
Support client meetings and travel locally within Johannesburg when required
Comply with Marsh Professional Standards, procedures relating to errors and omissions, and applicable insurance regulations
What you need to have:
5–10 years’ experience in short-term insurance or broking
Strong technical knowledge of insurance coverages and global/multinational programs
FAIS and CPD compliance
Diploma in Insurance or progress toward AIISA, an advantage
Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
Ability to manage multiple client demands independently and under pressure
Fluency in English
Good awareness of clients’ businesses and the issues they face
