The Granite Club is looking for a full time Bartender who, under the direction of the Restaurant Management team, will create a positive dining experience by displaying excellent beverage and food knowledge throughout the various bars in the Club. Primary Responsibilities   Open and close the bar according to Granite Club standards. Maintain a welcoming environment through strict cleanliness and attention to detail. Create a positive Member experience through interaction and adherence to steps of service. Be knowledgeable of all beverage and food items to make recommendations. Prepare drinks to Granite Club specifications in a fast, accurate manner. Ensure accuracy when entering information into the POS system. Ensure Members are satisfied with their food, beverages and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests or concerns. Able to successfully solve problems through good decision making. Perform cocktailing and food service in the bar as required. Monitor cleanliness of the bar area and ensure it is presentable before, during and after service. Ensure the bar is adequately stocked with necessary mise-en-place prior to service. Wash, polish and arrange glassware in a neat and tidy manner. Prepare requisitions for food and beverage items and stock items when delivered. Actively demonstrate teamwork, sincerity, helpfulness and courtesy. Report all equipment and maintenance issues to a Restaurant Manager. Follow all fire and emergency procedures. Knowledgeable about the employee handbook and follow all the policies. Required Qualifications   Minimum Grade 12 education and 2 years related work experience. Good working knowledge of English (Written and Verbal) Smart Serve Certification. Wine, beer and cocktail knowledge is required. Excellent Communication and Social Skills. High attention to detail. Physically able to lift heavy equipment and other articles to stock the bar Ability to multitask, prioritize and remain calm under pressure. Understanding all policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and specifications. Part Time Staff - Availability as decided mutually upon hire. Must provide two days of weekend availability between Friday to Sunday and one weekday. Must be available to work weekends, weekdays and/or holidays, AM and PM. Compensation   The hourly rate for this position is $23.96.
