
SpEd Generalist- 18-21 Transition (TLC)
Job Description
The Transitional Learning Center at Bob Sakata Campus, a 27J School, is currently seeking a Special Education Generalist for the 27J Transitional Learning Center (18-21) Program. The teacher should be skilled in providing specially designed instruction in the areas of daily living skills, community skills, and employment skills for students with a variety of disabilities. This position requires high levels of collaboration with related services providers, classified staff, coaches and administration. A valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License, Special Education Generalist, is required.
Experience:
- Designing and implementing specially designed instruction for students working on post secondary goals
- Administering transition specific assessments
- Collecting and analyzing data
- Adjusting instruction based on data
- Collaborating with and supporting families as they navigate adult services
- Collaborating with and connecting families to outside adult service agencies/community opportunities
- Developing and implementing IEPs and BIPs
Strength in building relationships with multiple stakeholders in the schools and community
Qualifications:
- Valid CDE License as a Special Education Generalist
- Minimum of 2 years of special education teaching experience
- Ability to provide leadership/training/and supervision to paraprofessionals
- Ability to handle many complex tasks simultaneously
- Ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances
- Belief in empowering all students as owners of their learning
- Training in descalation strategies
- Ability and interest to be part of a high functioning, collaborative team
