Salary: Per GTA Contract

Daily Hours: 7
Work Year: 2026-2027

Minimum Requirements: 
New York State Certification
Current GTA  Member

Desired Qualifications: 
New York State TEACH Certification
Trained or willing to be trained in TCIS.
Minimum of 5 years of successful experience with behavioral management, preferably at the Elementary level.
Demonstrated success in implementing classroom management strategies and PBIS/MTSS frameworks.
Experience with Leader in Me.
Experience utilizing data to inform behavioral interventions.

- Please note that the official start date for this role is pending grant funding notification over the summer and subsequent Board of Education approval. 


Position Summary/Responsibilities: 
- This is a 1 year grant funded position appointment. 
- Provide direct coaching support to English Village and Lakeshore Elementary Schools.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating restorative circles and accountability projects.
- Demonstrated success in implementing classroom management strategies, the Leader in Me (LIM) framework, and PBIS/MTSS structures.
- Experience utilizing behavioral data to inform and adjust targeted interventions.
- Provide modeling, co-teaching, and non-evaluative feedback to elementary teachers regarding proactive classroom management, student engagement, and clear behavioral expectations.
- Coach teachers on integrating Leader in Me (LIM) habits into students' daily routines.
- Consult with teachers on physical classroom setups and routines that incorporate spaces and structures to reduce distractions and prevent low-level disruptive behaviors.
- Create peer mediation programs in buildings to resolve conflicts and repair damaged relationships to enable re-entry into learning. 
- Design and implement student Accountability Projects to teach replacement behaviors and actively repair the harm caused by their behavior. 
- Assist teachers in aligning classroom discipline structures with the District Code of Conduct, ensuring consequences are logical, fair, and consistently applied.
- Model effective de-escalation and co-regulation strategies in real-time within the classroom setting to support teachers during acute behavioral incidents.
- Assist building teams in operationalizing Student Safety Plans within the general education classroom, ensuring teachers feel confident, safe, and supported when managing complex behavioral needs.
- Support teachers in executing Tier 2 interventions (such as Check-In/Check-Out, tailored behavior charts, and small-group circles), ensuring they align with LIM leadership goals and fit into the daily classroom schedule.
- Guide grade-level teams (PLCs) in reviewing behavioral data from platforms to identify trends, measure the success of interventions, and adjust classroom strategies accordingly.
- Guide behavioral management and conflict resolution during unstructured times like the cafeteria and recess to ensure continuity of expectations.
- Attend Restorative Practices district-level meetings to support building-level work that aligns with broader district goals.
- Provide district-wide restorative practice training as a member of the centralized team.
- Participate in the development of district-wide curriculum to support the explicit teaching of student behavior as it relates to the Code of Conduct.
- Once this one-year appointment ends on June 30, 2027, the employee's position for the 2027�2028 academic year will be determined through the GTA transfer process. 
- This position may be called on to substitute in classroom(s) when the need for a daily substitute arises. In very rare cases, this position may be called upon to fulfill a vacancy in the appropriate tenure area until the vacancy can be filled.
