Job Title Floor Technician Location Mocksville, NC Schedule Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM Compensation  $16.00 per hour   Summary We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Floor Technician to specialize in the maintenance of large concrete floors at a manufacturing facility in Mocksville, NC. The primary responsibility will be the operation of buffing and other floor maintenance machinery. This role requires extensive walking and standing, as well as strict adherence to manufacturing site safety protocols. Key Responsibilities Floor Maintenance: Primarily responsible for operating and maintaining floor buffing machines, scrubbers, and other necessary equipment to clean, polish, and maintain large expanses of concrete floor in the manufacturing area. Equipment Management: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of floor equipment (e.g., changing pads, emptying tanks, light troubleshooting) to ensure operational readiness. Report any major malfunctions to the supervisor immediately. Cleaning Tasks: Assist with other janitorial duties as needed, including sweeping, mopping, and deep cleaning of industrial areas. Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all company and client safety policies and procedures. Correctly and consistently use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas, including safety shoes, safety vests, safety glasses, and ear plugs. Physical Requirements: The position involves substantial walking and standing throughout a large industrial environment, as well as the physical effort required to maneuver heavy floor equipment for the duration of the shift. Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating commercial floor maintenance equipment, particularly high-speed buffers or propane burnishers on concrete or industrial flooring. Skills: Mechanically inclined with the ability to operate and maintain specialized equipment. Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Safety Knowledge: Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of industrial safety practices and PPE requirements. Physical: Must be able to sustain extensive walking and standing for the full shift and be capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 50 lbs. Work Environment: Must be able to work in a demanding, fast-paced manufacturing environment that requires constant mobility and adherence to strict safety rules. Work Environment & PPE Requirements This role is located within a working manufacturing plant. Due to the nature of the facility and noise levels from machinery, the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required and must be worn in designated areas at all times: Safety Shoes (Steel-toe or equivalent) Safety Vests Safety Glasses Ear Plugs
