The opportunity:
Manages or performs work associated with coordinating, negotiating, and administering procurement proposals, bids, and contracts with suppliers/vendors including: Coordinating preparation of contract and bid documents, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained throughout the process. Collecting and analyzing technical, financial, and legal information as input to contract and bid documents. Liaising with applicable technical, finance or legal teams on matters requiring review. Documenting performance and service level agreements and monitoring vendor/supplier performance against those agreements.
How you’ll make an impact:
You will define the appropriate supplier selection to cover the project needs, based on tender strategy, ensure CatM strategy implementation in the project, align on the Offer and Contracting way (firm price, escalations, lump-sum, BOQ, etc.) for key items.
You will set, ensure and follow up Supply Chain Management (SCM) scope if fulfilling the required project timeline and quality of deliveries, ensure, follow up and take the required actions to secure SCM scope under the available project budget, identify potential SCM risks and opportunities in the project and define mitigation actions when required. Monitor the risk during project execution (i.e. trigger a subcontractor risk review).
You will ensure procurement timeline is aligned with project needs. Monitor/ expedite and ensure product and service deliverables (equipment delivery date, manufacturing milestones, FAT Date, etc.), provide the expedited information to the project team to be considered in the project planning, ensure that SCM Offer Handling process is followed in a timely manner by all the involved SCM and non-SCM stakeholders during the project life, SCM Order Handling process is followed in a timely manner by all the involved SCM and Non-SCM stakeholders during the project, all commercial requirements agreed with customer are provided by project team to SCM in or der to cascade them down to the suppliers RFQs and/or orders. Ensure Hitachi Energy GTCs are considered in the contracts, all technical requirements are provided by engineering/project management, in order to provide them to the suppliers.
You will align with project team regarding supplier documentation scope, ensure the monitoring of all documentation deliverables per equipment or services to be delivered, ensure SCM issues are handled in the right time and speed to avoid or mitigate the potential negative impact on the project, represent complete SCM function in the project during execution, responsible for communicating and update the project management and SCM about the procurement status in specific project, act as single point of contact for escalations related to SCM issues in the project, lead the required SCM stakeholders and collaborate with non-SCM members to successfully execute and perform SCM scope of the project, prepare, drive and/or lead the required SCM project meetings and/or initiatives necessary to properly manage procurement in the project (Procurement Kick-off, SCM project reviews, etc.).
You will engage and be prepared in project core team meetings and contribute wherever required in Business Unit (BU) reviews on behalf of SCM for the specific project assigned, ensure accurate data of project related SCM is included and maintained in main SCM ERP and tools, periodical project procurement report is available with the latest data and shared with key stake holders, update the organization about SCM health status in specific projects involved, that logistics and transport scope is handled in a timely manner and within budget and that previous experiences are taken into account to influence new projects and drive continuous improvements. Share insights and new cases with SCM and the project team.
You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering discipline or business administration or any other qualification that is deemed suitable for the role.
Minimum 10 to15 years of professional experience in a project environment for Power Quality & HVDC substations, Renewable Energy and Process Industries in EPC/Engineering packages and depth knowledge and exposure in Sourcing with leadership skills. Minimum 10 years of professional experience in a supply chain function and exposure to sourcing of various EHV Electrical instruments i.e Reactors, Cooling Systems, Transformer, Circuit Breakers, ITs, GIS, Structures, HV/LT Switch boards, HV/LV Cables etc. from inland and international supply base.
Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement of tailored equipment.
Good knowledge of processes in large and complex industrial or power quality projects, strength in commercial/legal aspects of purchasing and experience with capital project business, transnational process, and SAP Project Systems.
Skilled communicator who can interface with numerous external and internal parties at different levels in a project environment
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required. Excellent communication & proven negotiation skills Drive to continuously create results and innovative solutions.
