We are seeking a Mechanic II to join our operations team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role requires you to troubleshoot, repair and work on a variety of components.

What you will do:

  • Perform minor and major overhaul of reciprocating gas compressor units and related support equipment including generator units and water pump units.

  • Respond to equipment problems and emergency calls.

  • Maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

  • Communicate information and recommendations to supervisors and company workers.

  • Assist in planning compressor station maintenance activities. Inventories spare equipment parts and maintains records on equipment.

Who you are:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of directly related experience in industrial, mechanical, or equipment maintenance environments.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems, including compressors, generators, pumps, and control equipment.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment using specialized tools such as power tools, grinders, and torque wrenches.

  • Working knowledge of computer applications and control system software, along with solid mathematical aptitude for operational and maintenance activities.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, including lockout/tagout procedures, voltage recognition, and emergency response activities.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow and execute detailed instructions independently.

  • Physically capable of performing field-based work, including lifting/moving equipment, operating maintenance tools, and using sight, hearing, smell, and color recognition to safely monitor equipment and detect operating issues.

Physical Requirements: Include but are not limited to: 

Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 25 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
