Location: Lithgow Correctional Centre

Employment type:  Ongoing Full time, Part time and Job Share considered

Salary:

    • Psychologist: $83,898 – $118,316pa.
    • Specialist Psychologist: $114,016 - $139,824pa
    • Plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Lithgow Correctional Centre is a maximum‑security facility for adult male offenders, located in Marrangaroo, approximately 7 km west of Lithgow in the Blue Mountains. The centre offers psychologists the opportunity to work in a challenging and professionally rewarding correctional environment, delivering evidence‑based interventions that make a genuine impact.

What you’ll do

 

As a Psychologist or Specialist Psychologist, you will:

  • Deliver psychological assessment and intervention for remand and custodial populations
  • Advise on offender mental health and criminogenic risk, including violent and sexual offending
  • Produce clear, concise reports and clinical documentation
  • Accurately record case activity in OIMS
  • Collaborate to drive behaviour change, risk reduction and safe community reintegration
  • Attending professional development and networking opportunities including the annual CSNSW Psychology Conference

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Ethical, motivated psychologist
  • Interest in offender and risk‑based practice
  • Evidence‑based approach to mental health and behaviour
  • Strong written and consultation skills
  • Resilient, flexible, and effective with complex needs

 

Essential Requirements

 

  • Minimum four-year accredited qualification in psychology
  • Current full AHPRA registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Current driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout NSW.
