CLASSIFIED POSITION: 12-Month Administrative Assistant to the Supervisor of Transportation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Passed the Administrative Assistant Test given by the district.
- An associate degree in office technology/management is preferred, but a high school education and training with experience will be considered.
- Good communication skills, tactful, courteous.
- A customer service attitude with an ability to handle people in difficult situations. Skill in human relations�can work effectively and cooperatively with adults and young people�diplomatic.
- Ability to handle confidential materials�discreet, reliable, and loyal.
- A conscientious and helpful attitude toward work and relationships with people and the ability to take instruction.
- Strong organizational skills to ensure the efficient operation of the office.
- Proficiency in using word-processing and database programs on a personal computer including speed and accuracy.
- Skilled at operating general office equipment.
- Good attendance�enthusiastic, cheerful, pleasant personality, prompt, and punctual.
- Excellent personal appearance and grooming.
- Adaptability, initiative, and a willingness to assume additional duties that may be assigned, and to learn additional skills as required.
SHIFT TIME: 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM & 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

REPORTS TO:
Transportation Supervisor
TIME SCHEDULE:
6:00 AM to 10:00 AM & 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
12-Month Contract
GENERAL DUTIES:
Act as a telephone receptionist for both Transportation Supervisor and Assistant Transportation Supervisor
Dispatch and receive messages via school district's radio system
Keep driver files and records orderly and up to date
Coordinate between drivers and Local, County, State agencies to report road defects or closures
Maintain trip schedules for school buildings and sports
Provide bussing information to parents with any changes to their bussing schedule
Prepare and send invoices for fuel sold to Head Start
Maintain vehicle reports and cost data
Maintain open purchase orders and review invoices monthly
Assist with yearly parts inventory
Assist with updating routes in school bus routing program
Assist with repair and maintenance records
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
