Job Description

Deputy Supply Chain Lead

At Yokogawa, we operate in environments where precision is not optional, reliability is expected, and sustainability is a shared responsibility. Rooted in Japanese engineering heritage, we combine long-term thinking, craftsmanship, and discipline with advanced automation, engineering, and digital technologies.

Our customers rely on us to deliver complex solutions that support safe, efficient, and sustainable operations — consistently, and without compromise.

Behind every successful delivery is a disciplined and well-orchestrated supply chain.

Across Europe, our Supply Chain team ensures that materials, systems, and services move seamlessly — connecting suppliers, factories, warehouses, and project teams. This role sits at the heart of that system.

As Deputy Supply Chain Lead, you are the trusted counterpart to the Supply Chain Lead. You provide structure, continuity, and operational leadership, ensuring that strategy translates into daily execution — especially when complexity increases.

Your Role and Contribution

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who brings calm, clarity, and coordination to a dynamic environment — reflecting the Yokogawa way of working: thoughtful, precise, and dependable.

You will:

• Act as the operational extension of the Supply Chain Lead, ensuring smooth day-to-day execution across procurement, planning, logistics, and warehousing.

• Coordinate priorities across Engineering, Sales, Project Management, and Finance, balancing cost, quality, and delivery commitments.

• Provide leadership during escalations, peak periods, or absences, maintaining stability and momentum within the team.

• Identify and drive process improvements using data, structured problem-solving, and continuous improvement principles.

• Contribute to strategic initiatives such as digitalisation, automation, sustainability, and supplier development.

• Support decision-making by anticipating risks, preparing insights, and ensuring the organisation stays ahead of issues rather than reacting to them.

This role is not about “stepping back” — it is about stepping in where leadership is needed.

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

• A predictable and resilient supply chain, even during disruptions.

• Clear alignment and communication across departments.

• Improved visibility on planning, inventory, and supplier performance.

• Faster issue resolution, with fewer escalations reaching senior leadership.

• A well-supported, engaged, and coordinated Supply Chain team.

You strengthen the system by making it more reliable, transparent, and easier to operate.

Your Profile

You bring structure without rigidity and confidence without noise. You are comfortable operating in complex environments where priorities shift and decisions matter — with a mindset that values preparation, respect for process, and continuous improvement.

Required experience and skills

• Solid experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Planning, or Operations.

• Ability to translate strategy into clear operational actions.

• Strong communication skills and natural stakeholder management.

• Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven improvement.

• Experience leading people or coordinating cross-functional work.

• Fluency in English; Dutch is an advantage.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).

• Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

• Background in a technical, engineering, or project-driven environment.

The Team and Environment

You will join a diverse Supply Chain organisation made up of buyers, planners, coordinators, and logistics specialists, united by one objective: delivering the right solution at the right time with the right quality.

You will work closely with:

• The Supply Chain Lead (your direct manager)

• Planning and logistics teams

• Project managers and engineers

• European warehouses

• Global procurement teams and factories

• Finance and Quality functions

The culture is professional, collaborative, and supportive — combining European pragmatism with Japanese principles of respect, quality, and long-term thinking.

Why Yokogawa

Founded in Japan and active worldwide for more than a century, Yokogawa brings a distinctive balance of innovation and continuity. We believe in doing things properly, not hastily — and in building solutions, partnerships, and careers for the long term.

You will join a company that offers:

• Global reach with strong local ownership

• A clear and credible sustainability agenda

• Long-term stability and investment in people

• A culture built on trust, precision, craftsmanship, and co-innovation

Your Development Path

This Deputy role is intentionally designed as a leadership development position. Depending on your ambitions and performance, future paths may include:

• Supply Chain Lead

• Regional or European Supply Chain roles

You will be challenged, coached, and trusted with responsibility — from day one.
