Job Description
Registered Nurse – PCU (Progressive Care Unit) travel assignment in Olathe, Kansas. Start date 07/05/2026 for 13 weeks. Earn $2,029–$2,187 per week with a 3x12 night shift. Setting is a short-term acute care hospital; this role includes floating to ICU and all inpatient units as needed.

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for PCU-level patients per the established plan of care, including monitoring and updating the patient’s condition.
- Administer medications, manage oxygen therapy and respiratory support as needed, including BiPAP when required.
- Care for patients with chest tubes, PICC lines, and other invasive devices; perform and document required labs independently.
- Monitor cardiac rhythm, respond to changes, and initiate codes as indicated; call on own consults and coordinate with the care team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to implement care plans, advocate for patient safety, and ensure timely discharge planning.
- Preference for experience with open-heart cases Day 2 or Day 3 post-op with pacer wires; maintain flexibility in the open cardiac pathway.
Requirements
- Active KS RN license or Compact RN license; BLS and ACLS required; NIHF certification
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience
- Proficiency with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing own labs
- Comfortable floating to ICU and all inpatient units (Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED)
- Availability for 3x12 night shifts; every-other-weekend schedule
- No new graduates accepted
- No on-call coverage required; holidays based on unit needs
