Tool Crib Attendant

Overview 

The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for issuing tools and equipment to employees, maintaining accurate records of issued tools, and overseeing inventory levels within the tool crib. The Tool Crib Attendant ensures timely scheduling of preventative maintenance for all equipment. 

 

Roles & Responsibilities 
  • Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment or supplies stocked. 

  • Count material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and enters all needed materials into the requisition log. 

  • Ensures all orders made have a Sage number and is on the Billing of Materials (BOM). 

  • Checks the BOM for all needed parts for rush orders as well as new projects. 

  • Ensures all stock ordered is on the BOM. 

  • Enters all paint orders. 

  • Ensures all gases for welding are appropriately stocked. 

  • Maintains stock of gases for example diesel and propane. 

  • Uses the GigaTrak tool tracking program to check tools and materials in and out. 

  • Make requisition of parts, tools, and materials, maintain all records of received parts and materials. 

  • Receives incoming deliveries of parts and materials from the receiving department, making sure quantity is correct and restocks the shelves. 

  • Perform 5`S and housekeeping. 

  • Repair tools and ensures they remain in good working condition. 

  • Keeps track of all tools sent out for repair and maintenance. 

  • Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

 Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities 

  • Supply Chain/Logistics/Inventory systems experience is an asset. 

  • Well-developed computer literacy skills, especially Excel, and Sage Accounting software. 

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is an asset. 

  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.  

  • Basic mathematical skills. 

  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently. 

  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.  

  • Dependable, with good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills. 

  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude. 

 

Working Conditions 
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals. 

  • Overtime as required. 

  • Must have the physical ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 lbs. 

  • Work is performed in a combination of office and industrial environments. 

  • This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, and odors, as commonly found in a manufacturing setting.
