Job Overview
Woodlawns Landscape Company is looking for a Yard Associate to take ownership of our yard and warehouse organization, seasonal color preparation, and material staging operations.
This is a year-round role and a great fit for someone who likes working outside, staying organized, managing details, and helping crews succeed. The Yard Associate plays a critical role in ensuring seasonal color materials, faux materials, inventory, and supplies are organized, prepared, and ready so crews can work efficiently every day.
Responsibilities and Duties
Seasonal Color and Material Preparation
Take ownership of organizing seasonal color material.
Receive, count, sort, and organize seasonal color deliveries.
Prepare seasonal color material for crews based on daily schedules and direction from management.
Stage seasonal color material each afternoon so crews are ready for the next day.
Maintain organized seasonal color inventory and storage areas.
Ensure live inventory is watered and properly cared for.
Take ownership of organizing and preparing faux material.
Track and communicate returned seasonal color and faux material.
Yard and Warehouse Organization
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse.
Ensure materials, tools, and supplies are stored properly.
Organize returned materials and communicate inventory updates.
Identify and report safety concerns or organization issues.
Inventory and Deliveries
Receive vendor deliveries.
Count and verify delivered materials.
Report shortages, damaged materials, incorrect deliveries, or inventory concerns.
Help maintain accurate inventory counts and material organization.
Communicate inventory information clearly to management.
Operations Support
Make deliveries to crews or job sites when needed.
Pick up materials and supplies as directed.
Support snow operations during the winter.
Assist with additional yard, warehouse, or operational tasks when primary responsibilities are complete.

Someone who is dependable, proactive, and willing to help where needed.
Job Requirements
This can be an entry-level position, but prior experience is preferred.
Experience in any of these areas is helpful:
Landscaping
Yard operations
Warehouse operations
Seasonal color or plant material
Inventory management
Deliveries
Driving a truck and trailer
Skid steer operation
Snow operations
Seasonal color knowledge is not required on day one, but it is a plus. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and become highly proficient in organizing and preparing seasonal color materials.
Schedule
This is a year-round position.
The start time will usually be between 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM. The day will typically end around 3:00 PM. Overtime may be needed. Saturdays may be required during peak season. Snow events may require additional hours during the winter.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs with assistance.
Employees should never lift more than 50 lbs without help. This is company policy.
Must be able to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, snow, and changing weather conditions.
Driving and Equipment
This role may drive a pickup truck, truck and trailer, or other approved company vehicles. A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, DOT certification, and DOT health card are required.
This person may also operate a skid steer if trained and approved.

Faux materials are organized and prepared correctly.
Crews have what they need staged and ready the afternoon before.
Inventory and returned materials are communicated clearly and accurately.
Vendor deliveries are counted and reported correctly.
Vendors and team members are treated professionally.
The person in this role is dependable, organized, proactive, and takes pride in owning the preparation process that helps crews succeed every day.
