Adjunct Hiring Pool - College of Humanities & Social Sciences

This is an open pool posting and applicants will be contacted only if a suitable position becomes available. Pool may be used to fill vacancies for the Fall 2026 - Summer 2027. This pool expires 05/31/27. Applicants wishing to remain in this pool past 05/31/2027, must reapply at that time. Position Summary: Temporary, part-time adjunct faculty in Humanities and Social Sciences. Disciplines accepting new hiring pool applications are: Africana Studies; Economics (on campus only), Gender Studies; and Sociology. Applicants must specify discipline(s) in cover letter. Online teaching opportunities may be available in some of the above-mentioned disciplines. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent in a discipline appropriate to the one in which the candidate wishes to teach. Commitment to quality instruction at the college level is essential. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in a discipline appropriate to the one in which the candidate wishes to teach. Past record of successful college-level teaching experience in the discipline of employment. For online teaching, one or more semesters’ worth of online teaching experience. Experience using the Canvas platform and with courses that have received Quality Matters approval is advantageous.
