Job Summary
The Sr. Specialist, Category Management plays a pivotal role in optimizing product categories to achieve business growth and profitability targets for McKesson Canada. This position involves strategic planning, vendor relationship management, and data-driven decision-making to enhance product offerings and market competitiveness.
Job Responsibilities
* Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies aligned with overall business objectives and market trends.
* Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and consumer insights to identify new opportunities and optimize existing product assortments.
* Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations, contract management, performance reviews, and fostering collaborative partnerships.
* Analyze sales data, inventory levels, and profitability metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, sales, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of category plans.
* Develop and manage promotional activities, pricing strategies, and product launches to maximize sales and market share.
* Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports on category performance, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.
* Identify and implement process improvements within category management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in category management, product management, or strategic sourcing, preferably within the healthcare or pharmaceutical distribution industry.
* Proven track record of developing and executing successful category strategies that drive significant business results.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and category management software/tools.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
