Job Description

Finance Manager, KLARIS Precision Health Research Clinic

KLARIS Precision Health Research Clinic is a new cardiometabolic precision health research centre anchored at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), the flagship hospital of the National Healthcare Group. Working within a Predict–Monitor–Treat framework, we translate genomic, biomarker, and digital health data into personalised risk stratification and interventions for Singapore’s multi-ethnic population.

Supported by philanthropic and competitive funding, KLARIS brings together clinical, bioengineering, and digital health collaborators to advance the next frontier of translational medicine.

We are looking for motivated team players to join us in our start-up phase—individuals who are excited to build, shape new processes, and grow alongside the centre as it evolves. This role offers a rare opportunity to shape the financial foundations of a high-impact research enterprise from the ground up.

What you will do

  • Own the full spectrum of financial management for KLARIS, including grant portfolios, philanthropic funds, cost centres, and operational budgeting
  • Manage the financial lifecycle of competitive grants and research funding, including budgeting, utilisation tracking, reporting, and close-out
  • Support donor stewardship through proper ringfencing, compliance, and transparent reporting of restricted funds
  • Work closely with the centre’s leadership team to develop financial dashboards, projections, and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making
  • Participate in key discussions on spending, investments, and the scaling of programmes and infrastructure
  • Manage clinical trial agreement finances, including milestone invoicing and sponsor reconciliations
  • Oversee annual budget cycles, track expenditure against projections, and support pricing and cost recovery strategies
  • Ensure compliance with institutional financial governance, audit requirements, and relevant regulations (e.g. PDPA)
  • Support procurement processes, vendor engagements, and contract oversight
  • Provide financial guidance to investigators and programme leads on allowable spending and financial performance

Who we are looking for

  • A degree in finance, accountancy, or a related field
  • Around 5–8 years of relevant experience in financial management; with at least some of those years in a strategy / consultancy role
  • High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel for financial modelling and reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical rigour, and ability to manage multiple funding streams concurrently
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakholders
  • Demonstrable passion and ambition toward making a significant difference in translational research and cardiometabiolic care practices
  • Amendable to working with uncertainty in a start-up-like working environment
  • A genuine interest in healthcare innovation, research, and contributing to meaningful impact
  • Professional certifications (e.g. CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA) and prior exposure to public healthcare or research environments, including the systems used, are advantageous but not required
