The opportunity
Are you ready to lead and make a lasting impact in Toronto’s dynamic building industry? BPA is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to deliver innovative mechanical systems for new construction, interior renovations, and building retrofits, primarily within the Commercial Office sector.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of projects from concept through construction—leading multidisciplinary teams, managing scope, schedule, and budgets, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. You’ll provide technical leadership, guide design decisions, and ensure quality, efficiency, and constructability at every stage. Your daily impact
Lead the project team and coordinate the efforts of various internal and external stakeholders to carry out mechanical building systems projects for multiple sectors (institutional, office, commercial, cultural and residential)
Technical supervision, coordination, verification and design of various mechanical building systems projects
Ensure client satisfaction throughout projects
Survey existing installations
Analyze, design and adapt building-related installations
Help write proposals in collaboration with business development
Interdisciplinary coordination with external professionals
Assess the construction cost budget, set fees and schedules. Monitor project with accounting
Write specifications and technical reports
Provide assistance in regards to site supervision
Your profile
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in a consulting firm with building projects.
Proven experience building and maintaining strong, professional client relationships on complex building projects
Solid knowledge of Ontario/Canadian building codes, construction practices, and permitting processes.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, or eligible for licensure with PEO.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.
Ability to mentor junior resources.
