Regional Project Director – West Water
The Regional Project Director – Water provides project leadership across a Water business region with accountability for Water Business projects throughout the project lifecycle across the western United States. This role serves as a senior leader and and delivers profitable outcomes across a complex project portfolio.
Reporting to the Director of Operations – West Water, the Regional Project Director works in close partnership with Regional Operations leadership to support the business in a clearly defined, complementary operating model. The Project Director would review the day-to-day execution and performance of the and elevate decision-making during project delivery.
This role is responsible for providing oversight for the portfolio of project for the West Water region—bringing rigor, curiosity, and constructive challenge to project performance—while coaching and influencing teams to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
This role can sit in any office within the West region.
Your Impact
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide regional leadership for West Water portfolio with sustained focus on margin preservation.
- Review pricing strategy for pursuits.
- Support governance processes including contract reviews, readiness reviews, and project reviews.
- Engaging directly in pursuits, negotiations, and at-risk projects as needed.
- Support client engagement during negotiations and delivery while reinforcing WSP’s commercial position.
- Work in lockstep with the Regional Operations Director to align commercial intent with operational execution for the West Water project portfolio.
- Identify emerging risks and opportunities through active project review and engagement.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Project Managers.
- Coach and mentor leaders to strengthen capability across the region.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and sharing of best practices.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required to support the Water business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in project delivery, pricing, or governance.
- Demonstrated experience leading or influencing pricing strategy.
- Strong understanding of contractual frameworks and project commercial lifecycles.
- Proven ability to provide commercial judgment in high-risk situations.
- Experience partnering with Legal, Operations, Finance, and Business Development.
- Strong communication skills and executive presence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree or relevant professional certification.
- Experience with alternative delivery models.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $134,000 - $190,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
