Develop and maintain all manufacturing processes and related documentation in assigned areas, ensuring full compliance, under general supervision.
What will you be doing?
Support process improvement initiatives, engineering studies, and process validation efforts under general supervision, including drafting protocols with guidance from functional leadership. Conduct investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions, while working closely with the Quality team to support appropriate material disposition through engineering inputs.
Additionally, develop manufacturing methods for components and assemblies of moderate complexity, including creating work instructions, routers, and basic tools, fixtures, and gauges. Assist with machine programming and version control, release technical documentation, and support validation and project implementation activities. Contribute to productivity initiatives such as cycle time reduction, cost savings, and lean improvements, while supporting the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in assigned tasks and project deliverables.
What will you need to be successful?
This role is based in Batu Kawan, Penang, and requires a degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field, with preference for candidates holding an MS and at least four years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, including shop floor exposure, and a solid understanding of GD&T principles, drawing interpretation, and project planning. Familiarity with tools such as Minitab for capability analysis, as well as proficiency in MS Office applications and AutoCAD, is highly preferred.
In addition, the candidate should possess capabilities in root cause analysis, value stream mapping, design for manufacturing, and a basic understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, VAVE, and MSA methodologies. The role also requires the ability to lead projects with limited supervision and effectively collaborate across teams. Strong communication skills and the ability to provide guidance or coaching on best practices are advantageous. Travel requirements are minimal, at less than 10%.
