In this role, you will coordinate construction surveying layout execution, including subsurface utility locates, in an excitingand fast-paced environment, as well as supporting field laser scanning and drone operations as needed
See more about Haskell's VDC team here: AE Technology Applications and VDC Teams Drive Project Success Job Responsibilities: Field Duties Oversees the subsurface utility locate program, including coordinating front-end requests, coordination with external vendors (surveyor, vac truck, GPR, etc.), collecting as-built utility locate data of identified utilities, and final deliverables per Haskell standards
Oversees the establishment and implementation of job-related control points & benchmarks provided by outside surveyors
Confirms that Constructional Layout Specialists and Carpenter Journeyman PCEs have established additional control points correctly as necessary based on survey control
Executes layout per “Best Practices” related to construction surveying
These include layout, as-built data collection, equipment care/maintenance, note-keeping, and data transfer
Frequent travel required, including performing field layout / laser scanning / drone duties, and other emerging field technologies when necessary
Office Duties Identifies, troubleshoots, and seeks resolutions for field issues and discrepancies, including technical equipment issues, field best practices, and/or digital project data issues
Communicates with project team (project manager / superintendent / assistant superintendent) regarding job needs for upcoming subsurface utility locate work and communicate needs to VDC team
Reviews layout data and drawings issued from the office VDC team and help perform these duties when needed, including subsurface utility as-built drawings in Revit or AutoCAD, to support the field layout personnel
Performs laser scan registration, drone data processing and overlay, and other VDC/BIM related service support
Inspects and ensures all field equipment and accessories under personal care are in good working order
Contributes to decision making processes involved in field technology capital purchases
Attends field technology conferences as needed Travel as required
Other duties which may be assigned as needed
May supervise others Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a college or university preferred or 3 years of similar role experience. 5+ years of construction surveying related experience and/or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

General knowledge of OSHA regulations and specific knowledge of The Haskell Company code of safe practices (Division 700)
Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office, and field layout software: Trimble Field Link /Access / Business Center, or similar; and laser scan software: Trimble RealWorks, etc
Robotic Total Station & GPS layout equipment proficiencies: Trimble, Leica, Sokkia, etc
CAD/BIM software skills are preferred: Revit, AutoCAD, Civil3D, pertaining to layout and modeling
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) familiarity preferred Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds
Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information
The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear
