The Role: 

 

We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to be based in the company's New York headquarters. The position will be responsible for the company’s global tax provision and reporting process under ASC 740. The position is primarily focused on tax accounting, including the quarterly and annual tax provision, deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, effective tax rate analysis, tax-related financial statement disclosures, and technical tax accounting matters arising from the company’s global operations and complex structure.

The successful candidate will operate as a key member of the tax and controllership organization, partnering closely with accounting leadership, finance teams, and external advisors to strengthen the company’s tax accounting processes, reporting quality, internal controls, and audit readiness.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Manage the quarterly and annual global income tax provision process under ASC 740
  • Manage accounting and reporting for:
    • deferred tax assets and liabilities
    • valuation allowances
    • uncertain tax positions (FIN 48)
    • APB 23 / outside basis differences
    • effective tax rate analysis
    • return-to-provision adjustments
    • tax-related financial statement disclosures
  • Evaluate and document tax accounting implications of complex transactions, restructurings, financing activities, legal entity changes, and cross-border operations
  • Partner closely with the corporate accounting organization to ensure accurate tax-sensitive accounting and reporting across the company’s global legal entity structure
  • Support statutory financial reporting and local country tax accounting considerations
  • Coordinate with independent auditors on tax accounting matters and support quarterly and annual audit procedures
  • Assist in strengthening tax-related controls, SOX processes, documentation standards, and reporting governance
  • Drive process improvements and operational discipline across the tax accounting function

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a CPA required. Advanced degree in tax preferred
  • 7-10 years of relatable experience at big four accounting firms and/or multinational public company environments
  • Deep technical knowledge of ASC 740 and broader US GAAP
  • Strong experience with deferred taxes, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, and multinational tax accounting
  • Experience supporting SEC reporting and public company audit environments

  • Ability to manage complex issues across multiple jurisdictions and legal entities

  • Initiative and ability to act independently in a complex work environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – ability to communicate clearly and precisely, and to command the respect of business colleagues.
  • Quantitative skills (e.g., ability to create and/or review Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint slides).
  • The ability to work well with an array of personalities and counterparties.
  • Flexibility – the ability to deal with rapid growth in constantly changing internal and external environments.
  • Impeccable integrity and a strong personal work ethic.
