Job Description

The role:
The Maintenance Technician, E&I is responsible for executing electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of control and instrumentation systems. This role ensures all work is performed in compliance with company procedures, technical standards, and applicable quality, safety, health, and environmental regulations, supporting the safe and reliable operation of regasification facilities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute preventive maintenance programs for electrical and instrumentation equipment within regasification systems, including instrumentation, control valves, PLCs, variable frequency drives, diagnostics, and process control systems.

  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and calibration of flow, level, temperature, and vibration transmitters, as well as safety, control, and emergency valves, gas and fire detection systems, analyzers, chromatographs, VFD units, and PLCs.

  • Inspect, calibrate, and test instruments and systems using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices and precision measurement tools to diagnose faults.

  • Analyze failures and verify 4–20 mA control loops in regasification processes, including level, flow, and pressure control systems, circuits, and workstations.

  • Modify, replace, and repair equipment to support maintenance activities and system upgrades.

  • Fabricate and install electrical and electronic components based on procedures, manuals, diagrams, and schematics, ensuring safe assembly and proper functionality.

  • Operate workshop equipment such as drills, mobile cranes, test benches, hydraulic pumps, and forklifts.

  • Interpret single-line diagrams, PLC diagrams, and schematics to perform wiring, configuration, and logic programming in PLCs and variable frequency drives.

  • Use computer systems to interface with PLCs, servers, and VFDs, and to diagnose logic and control system failures.

  • Identify critical points and recommend improvements based on engineering analysis to extend equipment life and reduce maintenance costs.

  • Perform inspection and maintenance of gas chromatographs and custody transfer systems.

  • Perform activities and documentation management to comply with Volumetric Controls.

  • Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to optimize equipment performance and manage consumable resources.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities with the regasification operations team to ensure safe equipment isolation and intervention.

  • Prepare and execute safe work permits and specialized permits required for maintenance activities.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with experience in instrumentation and control

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering roles or at least 5 years in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment, instrumentation systems, process control systems, and electrical distribution systems

  • Strong knowledge of control panels, electric motors, and electrical protection systems

  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems such as FIIX, safety management systems like SMS360, and standard office software

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Proactive and self-motivated approach to daily tasks

  • Effective communication skills
