Metric Engineering is seeking a CEI Senior Bridge Inspector to support construction engineering and inspection (CEI) services on roadway and bridge projects. This role involves performing complex technical assignments, overseeing inspection activities, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Candidates applying under the Senior Engineer Intern classification must possess a valid Engineer Intern (EI) certificate
Experience Requirements:
Candidates with degrees in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management:
- Minimum of one (1) year of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction
Candidates without the above degrees:
- Minimum of four (4) years of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction
Required Certifications:
Candidates must possess the following certifications at the time of Notice to Proceed (NTP), as required by the project scope:
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
- CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
- Required for inspection of all drilled shafts, including miscellaneous structures (e.g., sign structures, lighting structures, traffic signal foundations)
- FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
- IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
- Nuclear Radiation Safety Certification
- Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program (Inspector/Contractor)
Preferred Certifications:
For projects involving concrete pavement work, the following certifications are preferred:
- PCC Paving Inspection (TC3CN004-15-T1)
- Diamond Grinding and Grooving (TC3MN009-15-T1)
- Curing, Sawing, and Joint Sealing (TC3CN032-16-T1)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform highly complex technical assignments involving:
- Field surveying and construction layout
- Engineering calculations and verification
- Inspection of construction work
- Conducting field testing
- Coordinate, supervise, and provide guidance to junior inspectors
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and safety requirements
- Prepare clear and accurate reports and documentation
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced field environment
- High attention to detail and technical accuracy
- Strong leadership and coordination skills
- Ability to work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator
