Job Description
Primary responsibilities include:
- Monitor the contractor’s daily work activities and ensure construction is being completed in accordance with the applicable Contract Documents.
- Record the contractor’s daily work activities and other information relevant to the project in a daily work report (DWR).
- Measure and report work quantities for construction progress payments.
- Maintain a set of redlined plans showing work completed to-date and any field adjustments that should be memorialized in the final as-built plans. Submit redline plans to the Project Administrator on a weekly basis for incorporation in the as-built plan set.
- Assist in field investigations, on an as-needed basis, to obtain additional details/information related to construction issues.
- Notify the Project Administrator and contractor of defective work, work activities that deviate from the plans or when materials are installed that do not meet Contract requirements.
- Monitor configuration and testing of ITS devices/equipment and ensure testing is being conducted in accordance with the approved test plan.
- Works independently and relies on extensive experience/judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
The following certifications are required:
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
- FDOT Advanced MOT
- International Municipal Signal Association Traffic Signal Inspector
- International Municipal Signal Association/Fiber Optic Association Fiber Optic Technician
