Head of Operations Strategic & Regulatory Projects and PMO
Job Description
Responsibilities: Strategic & Regulatory Project Management Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of operational strategic and regulatory projects
Ensure projects align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria
Portfolio Oversight & Governance Oversee the COO project portfolio, ensuring prioritization, resource allocation, and progress tracking
Maintain rigorous project governance standards, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations
Monitor project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies as needed
Budget & Financial Management Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost control
Provide regular financial reporting and analysis to senior management
PMO Development & Maturity Drive the development of a structured, efficient, and high-quality Project Management Office
Promote best practices in project management, including methodologies, tools, and templates
Provide coaching, training, and support to project managers and teams
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Act as a liaison between project teams, senior management, and external regulators
Ensure transparent, timely communication of project status, risks, and issues
Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to enhance project delivery, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance
Implement lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across projects and the PMO
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Project Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in managing large-scale operational projects, regulatory initiatives, or transformation programs
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, Agile)
Experience in establishing or leading a PMO in a complex organization
Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to the industry (e.g., insurance, banking, finance)
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
