Job Description

What We Are Looking For:

Education and Experience

Qualified candidates will need:

 

Associate

•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, Organizational Leadership, Communications, or a related field
•Six (6) months to one (1) year of relevant professional experience in administrative coordination, office management, higher education support, or operations support
•An equivalent combination of required education and work experience may be considered. For example, an associate’s degree and 2.5-3 years of experience or a High School Diploma/GED and 4.5-5 years of experience


Coordinator

•Bachelor’s degree in business administration, higher education administration, organizational leadership, communications, or a related field
•A minimum of 2–3 years of relevant professional experience in administrative coordination, office management, higher education support, or operations support
•An equivalent combination of required education and experience may be considered. For example, an associate’s degree with 4–5 years of relevant experience or a High School Diploma/GED and 6-7 years of relevant experience

 

What is Helpful:
•Experience working in a higher education environment
•Experience supporting multiple stakeholders or units simultaneously
•Experience with event coordination and logistics
•Familiarity with university systems (e.g., purchasing, scheduling, student systems)


Skills needed:

 

Operational & Administrative Skills


•Ability to start new initiatives and execute those ideas while obtaining feedback with other stakeholders
•Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
•Develop systems for operational efficiency across various units
•Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
•Experience with purchasing processes, expense tracking, or financial coordination
•Ability to coordinate logistics for meetings, events, and academic activities
 
Communication & Interpersonal Skills


•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to interact professionally with faculty, staff, students, and external partners
•Ability to clearly communicate logistics, timelines, and expectations
•Customer-service mindset with a proactive and responsive approach
 
Coordination & Time Management


•Ability to manage competing priorities and shifting deadlines
•Strong scheduling and calendar coordination skills
•Ability to track tasks, follow up on requests, and ensure completion
•Comfort working across multiple units and stakeholders
 
Problem-Solving & Adaptability


•Ability to troubleshoot issues and identify solutions independently
•Comfortable handling interruptions and changing priorities
•Ability to work with incomplete information and seek clarification when needed
•Demonstrated initiative and willingness to step in where needed
 
Technology & Systems Skills


•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Experience with scheduling tools and shared calendars
•Ability to learn and navigate university systems (purchasing, HR, student systems)
•Experience with collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams)
