Summary
Responsible for scheduling patients for cardiac testing and procedures. May also provide multiple sites and/or clerical support to our patients, care teams, and billing department. Works to improve efficiency in the office setting.
Pay starting at $16.03 per hour and up!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedules cardiac testing and procedures for patients.
- Compiles necessary documents for procedures and tests and fax to the appropriate facility.
- Assists with patient transfers and admissions.
- Answers multi-line phones when needed.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of par list and any changes of insurance company requirements. Check for referrals if required by insurance company. Assists staff with all questions related to insurance requirements.
- Obtains referrals and authorizations as necessary for all Jackson and Adrian office appointments. Assists other Michigan Heart offices as needed.
- Provides educational materials to patients for tests and procedures. Answers all questions for patients regarding procedures and tests.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
EDUCATION:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of experience and education. - Required
EXPERIENCE:
- One to two years experience in physician office setting performing comparable duties – Required
- Knowledge of third party payers and managed care guidelines - Preferred
- Experience with a computerized patient management system – Preferred
- Experience with online third party payor systems – Preferred
- Experience on business machines such as: FAX machines, multi-line telephones, copy machines, and computers - Preferred
