As a Product Owner, your role will be to act as a bridge between customers and the delivery team, ensuring that internal customer expectations (your colleagues) are fully met and that products are delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
Value Creation and Product Leadership
Define and maintain a clear, shared, and evolving product vision aligned with business needs and GIRO’s strategic directions
Translate business needs into measurable and prioritized product objectives
Continuously prioritize the backlog to maximize value, taking into account: business benefits risks dependencies technical and operational constraints
Assess and arbitrate requests based on their added value rather than urgency alone
Define, monitor, and interpret value indicators (e.g., expected benefits, user impact, efficiency gains, risk reduction)
Coordination
Actively participate, in close collaboration with development teams, in planning processes and defining product improvements
Define and prioritize, as the customer representative to development teams, required product enhancements (user experience, features) based on the product’s minimum viable product (MVP)
Coordinate the involvement of required stakeholders (e.g., SecOps, Legal, etc.)
Validate all stages and ensure initiative updates necessary for proper project progress
Ensure the quality and health of product backlogs
Monitor key metrics on a daily basis and produce quarterly roadmaps to support work planning
Participate, alongside the product’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) committee and in alignment with the Steering Committee (Directors), in strategic discussions preparing upcoming releases
Ensure, in partnership with the Group Lead (manager), continuity in team management through influence that supports the achievement of objectives
Communication
Own communication between development teams and project teams regarding the sharing of product expertise, particularly around new features
Be responsible for communication and simplification for stakeholders, including directors and other executive members
Define product documentation content in collaboration with documentation and marketing teams
Communicate product delivery progress to stakeholders
Contribute to Scrum ceremonies with the delivery team and the Scrum Master
Promote Agile best practices
Act as a force of recommendation as a system expert, helping decision-making teams make informed choices aligned with overall planning
Your Contribution Makes a Positive Impact
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or an equivalent combination of work experience)
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Experience as a Product Owner in an Agile environment is an asset
Knowledge of SAFe is an asset
Previous experience in technology product companies (ideally B2B)
Proven ability to articulate vision, value, and concepts
Demonstrated focus on user experience in decision-making
Ability to understand the underlying technological architecture of products and APIs
Knowledge of financial and accounting technology tools is an asset
Experience managing multiple projects and/or products is an asset
Excellent ability to communicate technical issues related to business challenges
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English (the role may involve interactions with English-speaking clients, employees, or vendors)
Experience writing risk analyses and gap assessments
